Car Owners Distrusting Auto Mechanics

Tags: , , , , ,

Repair Shop Websites creates professionally designed websites for quality auto repair shops, but we too get our vehicles serviced and understand how you may be looking for good advice in finding great technicians in their area.  This article has the following suggestions about finding a repair shop you can trust and don’t leave it until the last minute!

  • Ask people you know if they are happy with their repair shop and why. You can also find out if a shop has a history of complaints with the Better Business Bureau by visiting www.bbb.org or calling 815-963-2222.
  • Find out how much experience technicians have with vehicles like yours.
  • Look around: The waiting area should be clean and display technician certifications and memberships in professional organizations. The work flow should appear smooth. Also pay attention to whether other customers appear satisfied.
  • Technicians should be open to answering questions and willing to take the time to talk to you about your vehicle’s needs.
  • Ask if there is a warranty on parts and labor and what is covered.
  • Get a quote, preferably in writing, before any work is done.
