Roy Lindahl knows all about the importance of keeping up with regular preventative maintenance, and the benefits it can reap for your car. When a tire loses air, more energy is exerted and the tire wears out more quickly. The driver then has to replace tires more often, which calls for additional energy and money to be spent.
This article states that “the federal government estimates that properly inflated tires can improve fuel efficiency by 3.3 percent, saving drivers about 8 cents per gallon of gasoline.”
